You may have recently heard of Arknights as one of the most recent anime airing right now this Fall 2022. But if you’re not familiar with it, this new series is actually based on a gacha mobile game made by Yostar!
In the game, you get to see beautifully designed characters and the amazing aesthetics of the game’s interface making it feel more immersive and give off a dystopian vibe-type of game. So, if you’re gearing to know more of Arknights characters then you’re on the right spot!

STRONGEST CHARACTERS IN ARKNIGHTS!!
21. Angelina

She was once a Siracusa living a normal school life until she got the Oripathy disease after getting involved in an accident. She was then taken in by Rhodes Island and is trained as a Caster operator using Originium Arts (Arknights, Character Profile).
Angelina is a competent fighter in combat with her Arts and is seen as an excellent support unit just like in the game. Her Arcane Staff allows her to use the Arts not just by attacking them but can also restrain and slow them from their movements. If you want a good healer with excellent crowd control, then Angelina’s there to help you out!

A graduate from the academy of Royal Victorian Guard is a girl who goes by the name of Ch’en. She is the Lungmen Guard Department’s superintendent, specifically their Special Inspection Unit. As one of their leaders, Ch’en takes on jobs by fighting crime, solving investigations, and taking down fugitives. Later on, she joins Rhodes Island as their tactical commander (Arknights, Roaring Flare).
With her skills as a Guard, Ch’en is proven to be excellent in swordplay both in lore and in-game. She can perform several quick strikes towards her enemies and her strongest skill is called Chi Xiao – Shadowless where she unleashes 10 consecutive strikes to enemies in front of her.
19. Bagpipe

Just like Ch’en, Bagpipe is also a Royal Victorian Guard Academy graduate and joined the Victorian Army for 3 years. She then later retired from the Army and now serves under Rhodes Island after her subordinate, Ch’en recommended it to her. With her experience in the military, you can consider her as a true professional when it comes to battle and combat (Arknights, Character Profile).
Gameplay-wise, Bagpipe has the highest ATK stat among other Vanguards in the game making her a unit that focuses mostly on DPS. Her third skill called Locked Breech Burst increases her attack interval and also heightens her ATK and DEF stats. This operator is deemed one of the best units you can get in the game since she is extremely useful in clearing out mobs.
18. Hoshiguma

Hoshiguma is one of the operators fighting alongside Ch’en as a part of the Lungmen Guard Department’s Special Ops Team. Despite having a bad record due to many charges, she was still taken in by her chief, Wei Yenwu into the department since he noticed her exemplary performance when on the field and is proven to be a real pro in taking care of crime activities, and rescue missions (Arknights, Character Profile).
In the game, Hoshiguma is a good starter Defender you can depend on since she can block three enemies with her giant triangular shield. Among the Defenders in the game, Hoshiguma stands as having one of the highest HP and DEF stats making her an excellent tank unit.
While most of the time you can use Hoshiguma as a tank, her 3rd skill allows her to become a DPS for a small period of time. This skill is known as the Saw of Strength in which she spins in her shield fast enough to kill enemies in front of her and this also increases her ATK and DEF stat in the process.

W is one of the first antagonists you will encounter in the game due to her involvement with the enemy organization called Reunion. She is a mercenary leader and managed to get into a battle against Rhodes Island in the earlier stories. After leaving Reunion, she negotiated with one of Rhodes Island’s leaders, Kal’tsit, for an agreement for their upcoming battles (Arknights, Roaring Flare).
W is a type of Artilleryman Sniper focusing mostly on AOE, Crowd Control, and DPS. She’s a powerful unit dealing heavy damage to a wide area with her special grenades. One of her skills is called D12 which is also the name of the bomb she uses for this skill. This works by planting the bomb on a certain area and dealing heavy damage to several enemies after a 2 second interval.

Ifrit has a serious case of Oripathy disease and was once treated by Rhine Lab. Despite her infection, she’s a very feisty girl who often resorts to causing rampage with her flamethrower. She also has high compatibility with Originium which is why she has very strong Arts abilities (Arknights, Character Profile).
Ifrit is one of the best starter Casters you can have in the game due to her high ATK stats and AOE damage that can debuff enemies. Her attacks are all linear due to the flamethrower as her main weapon. She’s also proven to be an effective unit not just against mobs but also story bosses due to having the capability of lowering enemy DEF stats.

15. Phantom

Phantom or also known as Lucian is a lone wanderer in the place called Victoria and was once an assassin who kills anyone who follows him from the Troupe. The black cat accompanying him is named Miss Christine and soon after, Lucian joins the organization of Rhodes Island while hiding his true identity with the name “Phantom” (Arknights, Phantom & Crimson Solitaire).
As an assassin of Rhodes Island, Phantom is an excellent unit for crowd control in the game and defeating enemies. He’s a part of the Specialist Class and can be redeployed several times when you need him. One of his skills is called Night Raid and it does not just damage his enemies but can also restrain them from their movements.
14. Shining

Shining is the leader of a small group of healers called Followers consisting of Nearl and Nightingale. She and Nightingale once retired from the Kazdelian Confessarii due to their disagreement with their way of experimenting on other people by transplanting other people’s memory into the body of a person (Arknights, Character Profile).
After they defected from the organization, they became wanderers treating everyone infected by the Oripathy until they were recruited by Rhodes Island. As for her gameplay, Shining is a great Medic and is also a useful support unit due to being able to buff her allies with her skill, Creed Field. It is also said in lore that the sword she carries can slice the soul itself of another person.
13. Nearl

Nearl or also known as Margaret Nearl came from a royal lineage of the Elderly Pegasian and is supposedly the heir of becoming the next Knight Primus of the Nearls. Due to her strong contradiction against political affairs, her grandfather protected her by “exiling” her from the family and announcing to the public that she is infected by Oripathy even though that she’s not. As an exiled one, she used this time to strengthen herself until she encountered Shining and Nightingale which then eventually became founders of the Followers. In terms of gameplay, Nearl is a good starter Defender you can use since she can both be a tank and a healer at the same time. Despite having low ATK stats, you can count on her for healing if you’re short on Medic units.

The Oripathy disease that Surtr has contracted caused her to create false memories of her own. Due to this, the members of Rhodes Island are having a difficult time in knowing her true origins and past life. Just like the fire demon Surtr from Norse mythology, this one in Arknights also seems to possess a greatsword that can be infused with fire.
Among the Arts Guard Class, Surtr has the highest ATK stat and has incredible DPS. Her skill called Twilight allows her to summon a Molten Giant while instantly increasing her Max HP and gaining a massive ATK buff. Basically, this skill turns Surtr into god mode due to her immense damage to enemies.
11. Kal’tsit

Kal’tsit is one of the founders of Rhodes Island and is currently the lead of the Medical Department while having the role of acting Director. Even though Kal’tsit can be somewhat an unfriendly type of person, her dedication towards Rhodes Island is what makes her subordinates respect her so much (Arknights, Character Profile).
When it comes to gameplay, Kal’tsit belongs to the Medic class and heals her allies one at a time. Despite her class, her role is mostly of an attacker due to being able to summon Mon3tr into the battlefield. Most of her skills are also related to buffing herself and Mon3tr’s ATK stats giving them higher output damage to enemies. Even though her gameplay is kinda niche and difficult to use, she can be an amazing unit once you master her skillset.

10. Schwarz

Schwarz is a marksman assassin and is also the Public Security Bureau head in Siesta. She was once hired to be Ceylon Dokos’s bodyguard and is extremely devoted to her. In the events of the Obsidian Festival, she was initially introduced as one of Rhodes Island’s adversaries but then later cooperated with them in revealing Cronin’s ulterior motives. Along with Ceylon, both of them eventually joined the ranks of Rhodes Island (Arknights, Heart of Surging Flames).
Schwarz’s main weapon is a crossbow which can deal deadly damage to her enemies with her high DPS. She is proven to be an amazing boss killer to the high output damage she can produce in the game. Even though her attack intervals cause her ATK SPD to be quite slow when you activate her Final Tactics skill, rest assured that she can defeat a high HP enemy in just a couple of shots!
9. Mostima

Mostima is one of the people employed under Penguin Logistics along with her fellow Laterano race, Exusiai. The Laterano lineage is known to possess a halo and wings just like from what you can see in Mostima’s design. (Arknights, Code of Brawl)
Mostima is a great Caster unit you can use despite having a high deployment cost in the game. She’s a Caster who focuses on Crowd Control and DPS. Mostima’s true power lies on her skill called Key of Chronology where she can stall several enemies due to being able to manipulate time itself with her staff. This also means running enemies will have a hard time getting through her while giving her allies more time in dealing damage.
8. Hellagur

Hellagur is one who had a lot of experience when it comes to war, especially against Ursus. He has grown to be an honorable man refusing to join sides who promote violence and injustice which led him to eventually joining the ranks of Rhodes Island (Arknights, Character Profile).
As a war veteran, Hellagur’s gameplay shines when it comes to survivability. He’s a part of the Guard Class and cannot be healed by his allies as part of his build. Fortunately, he has the capability of healing himself every time he attacks an enemy. Among the Guards in the game, Hellagur possesses the highest ATK stat among them and can even go further higher once his 3rd skill is activated which is called Full Moon.

Saria was the head of Rhine Lab’s Defense Division and was known for her wide knowledge in different fields of science, and especially Originium Arts. Other than that, she’s also a good defender when needed by her fellow allies. After she joins Rhodes Island, she becomes one of the people who help in researching different science fields (Arknights, Character Profile).
Saria is both an amazing defender and an amazing healer at that. You rarely see anyone in Arknights who excel in both roles and Saria is one of them. With her main class as Defender, she can block several enemies at once and doesn’t fall short in her healing capabilities. Her skill called Calcification maximizes her healer role buffing any allies in her range and debuffing enemies at the same time.

The energetic operator of Rhodes Island’s Special Ops is Blaze! Even though most of her fighting strategies are mostly brute-forcing the enemy, she is greatly respected by her fellow subordinates because of her track record as one of Rhodes Island’s operators which is why she’s one of the strongest kinds you can find! Just like Hellagur, Blaze shines on survivability while maintaining a consistent DPS throughout the fight. Once you activate her Boiling Burst, her chainsaw becomes a killing machine killing anyone that goes in front of her and once the timer expires, she follows it up with an explosion dealing heavy damage to any enemies in her range. She’s also deemed as one of the best Centurion Guards you can have in the game not just because of her design but also her gameplay of being able to rip anyone apart!
5. Gladiia

Gladiia is the combat strategist and the head of the Honorary Army in the organization called Abyssal Hunters. She has proven to be an excellent fighter in dealing with gigantic creatures, war, and assassinations. She cooperates with Rhodes Island’s by connecting the gap between the Aegir race and the organization (Arknights, Character Profile).
Gladiia’s gameplay focuses on crowd control due to her Specialist Class. Her skill called Waterless Dance of the Shattered Maelstrom allows her to restrain her enemies and create a powerful tornado pulling enemies toward herself while dealing massive Arts damage. She can be an amazing unit once you get to master how to use her like knowing when is the best time to activate her 3rd skill.
4. Rosmontis

Rosmontis is considered as one of Rhodes Island’s Elite Operators due to her immense skill in using Originium Arts since she can manage to deal with giant enemies, and her usefulness can range from small to large-scale battles. It’s as if she can manipulate the battlefield itself due to her foolproof tactics in annihilating enemies making her one of the most powerful ones in Arknights (Arknights, Character Profile).
Due to her Class as a Sniper, Rosmontis can do wide range of attacks and is considered as a real annihilator in battle. One of her passive skills allows her to ignore the DEF of her enemies which means their defenses are basically almost useless when Rosmontis is on the field. Even though she doesn’t target drones due to being a sniper, she can deal deadly damage to enemies on the ground.

Skadi was once an Abyssal Hunter just like Gladiia and one of their jobs is dealing with abyssal monsters under the sea. Just like the warfare happening on land, the Aegir race also have their own wars underneath the ocean and we’re talking about fighting god-like sea creatures here! And that’s the reason why she’s this high in the list. After she almost died from a war, she escaped to the land of Terra and took on the identity of a bounty hunter.
Upon joining Rhodes Island, she cooperates with them in investigating the events happening underwater and the status of their race. In terms of gameplay, Skadi is an exceptional operator who focuses mostly on DPS and Survivability. Once you know how to time activating her skills such as her Tidal Elegy, Skadi becomes an unstoppable force in the field.

Dusk is known for her supernatural painting abilities because she can actually turn them into something that is alive. It’s as if she can create a world of painting in real time. She can even drag people into this painting world she creates and even herself! She possesses a fragment of the Feranmut which is known to be a very powerful being once fully awakened (Arknights, Character Profile).
As she was recruited by Nian to join Rhodes Island, she cooperates in battle by creating Ink Spirits to aid her in battle and act as her offensive weapon. Dusk is an excellent unit if you need someone with Crowd Control and good DPS. Her 3rd skill allows her to summon creatures called Freelings in the field which can stop the enemy from their movements while Dusk goes all out hitting them with her buffed ATK damage.
Due to her summoned Freelings, Dusk’s skill is deemed as one of the best stalling tactics in Arknights and can even be used against story bosses. She can be a great support as this gives more time for her allies to recover in battle.

Nian is a girl who originated from the nation of Yan just like Dusk. She went to Rhodes Island seeking for help to search for her other siblings in order to stop her nation from resurrecting Feranmut who has the capability to destroy the land of Terra. What makes her at the top is because of her possessing one of the fragments of Feranmut which is a mythological being with god-like abilities (Arknights, Character Profile).
Nian is an excellent Defender and can even take the role of supporter because she can buff the DEF of her fellow allies just like her 3rd skill called Iron Defense. She is best utilized if you have other Defenders on the field because she can support them by increasing their block count and buffing their DEF stats. Overall, Nian is one of the best Defenders in the game due to her becoming the sturdiest unit in the field once the going gets tough.
