There are two types of people in the world. People who watch anime, and people who don’t even know the proper way to pronounce it. Anime has become a large part of not only Japanese Culture, but even the world’s culture. Even our parents likely watched an Anime at one point in time. I know mine watched Speed Racer. They also knew who Astro Boy was. Many people have watched it without knowing, and perhaps that allowed some to enjoy without considering themselves “weebs” out of fear it would make them uncool. Me? I wear it like a badge of honor. And so does so many other people. No matter where you go, you’ll find someone wearing an Ichiraku Ramen shirt, or dying their hair blonde and spiking it up, and heavens help you if you go to a comicon. Recently, it has been a very big year for anime, with shows both new and old debuting their most recent episodes and even some movies. But beyond that, even old anime that is no longer in serialization is still popular. I can think of a few right off the top of my head. And so, today, I would like to devote this video to celebrating these anime and putting them on a top 10 list of the most popular anime this year.
